Afghanistan, part five…!

After the 9/11/2001 attacks that hit the World Trade Center in Washington and the Pentagon in Virginia, and another that fell in a field in Pennsylvania, it was soon identified the organization that carried out the attack, which is Al-Qaeda and its leader bin Laden, who was based in Afghanistan under the Taliban government as his headquarters and camps for his organization. Which refused to extradite him to the United States, and a month after the attacks, the United States directed a major military campaign to eliminate al-Qaeda and bring down the Taliban from power to protect the national security of the United States of America. Within two months of the start of the military campaign, the regime collapsed and the fighters disappeared in Pakistan and the mountainous areas. Despite the great losses suffered by the movement, the movement proceeded to reorganize and start retaliatory military operations against the new government and foreign forces on the ground. We note here the development of military operations in terms of planning, implementation and impact significantly, which indicates However, this movement is a major player on the Afghan and regional arena because of its strategic tactics during these 20 years and relied on financing itself through taxation, mining, drug trade and some support from regional countries.

The movement was able to extend its authority over large areas of the country. In September 2015, the movement managed to take control of the strategic city of Kunduz, which is a major and decisive shift in the fate of the war.
The Qatari capital, Doha, embraced the negotiations with the Taliban movement, which lasted for nearly two years, to reach a major and resounding peace agreement that provides for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan and a major political victory for the Taliban movement that paves the way for it towards the capital, Kabul, and the rule of Afghanistan again.

To be continued…….
